How About Cotabato City as Testing Center for Licensure Examination for Teachers?

A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION TO PUT UP PROCESSING AND TESTING CENTERS IN COTABATO CITY FOR THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR TEACHERS

WHEREAS, thousands of applicants for Licensure Examination for Teachers every year come from Cotabato City and its neighboring towns under the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao;

WHEREAS, Cotabato City is a central location most accessible and thus, less costly for these thousands of LET applicants;

WHEREAS, the Professional Regulation Commission does not have a processing center for filing of application for LET in Cotabato City in spite of the big number of takers from the City an the adjacent towns;

WHEREAS, the Professional Regulation Commission has not identified Cotabato City as testing center for the LET;

WHEREAS, aside from being accessible and strategic, there is a high demand and strong clamour for processing of applications and conduct of the examination in Cotabato City as a way to lessen the expenses of test takers who will need to spend on transportation, food, and lodging if the centers will continue to be in faraway places like General Santos City or Davao City;

WHEREFORE, on motion of Honorable Mohammad Ali C. Matabalao and unanimously seconded, it was –

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to request the Professional Regulation Commission to put up processing and testing centers in Cotabato City for the Licensure Examination for Teachers;

RESOLVED FURTHER to furnish copies of this request to the Office of the President;

RESOLVED FURTHERMORE to furnish copies of this Resolution to all government and private colleges and universities in Cotabato City and the neighboring towns especially those offering education courses and enjoining them to support this initiative.

Unanimously approved on April 18, 2017.
